Music in the Studio – Fall Season 2021

Music in the Studio continues to create exceptional and intimate musical experiences with an incredible line-up of international artists from September to December 2021 entering it’s 9th successful season as the only subscription series of classical concerts in Dubai.

Curated by internationally renowned pianist Amira Fouad, Music in the Studio is set in Dubai Opera’s acoustically flawless studio, allowing for a more atmospheric and unmissable experience between the musicians and their audiences. Top international talent fly in from across the globe to bring Dubai’s discerning audiences exceptional experiences. Music in the Studio is presented by Encore! in partnership with Dubai Opera since 2017 and has offered over 75 musical experiences for the community including masterclasses, workshops, concerts for students, Q & A’s with artists of diverse international backgrounds and rich cultural experiences.

Alice Burla

Pianist

Called an “extraordinary talent” by the New York Times, Alice Burla is a Canadian pianist who stands out for her colourful, intelligent and spiritual approach to music. At 25 years of age, her remarkable ability and desire to share music has led her to perform both as a soloist and chamber musician in venues such as Carnegie Hall, Royal Concertgebouw, Teatro la Fenice, Palau de la Música Catalana, Auditorio Nacional, Fundación Juan March, Salle Cortot, and the World Economic Forum.

Alice recently became a laureate of the Sydney Int’l Piano Competition and the Concours musical Int’l de Piano Montréal. Last year, she was awarded the 2020 Migros-Kulturprozent Prize, the Kiefer Hablitzel │Göhner Music Prize with the special Prix Collard and the Schenk Stiftung Soloist Prize, which will lead her to perform with the Argovia Philharmonic this fall. She currently studies with Claudio Martinez Mehner and Anton Kernjak at the Musik Akademie Basel, where she received her Bachelor and Soloist Master degrees.

Her concert at Music in the Studio will include well-known popular pieces that will showcase her incredible talent as an accomplished pianist.
